Chamber update for the week

Here is a look at what we have been up to this week!
(Feb 4 - 10)

On Saturday, February 4th, we met with Village of Wilson officials and non-profit organizations in Wilson to discuss their community calendar and new events coming up.  It was a great meeting and we were happy to lend our expertise in community organizing!

Welcome to our new members of the Chamber!   Taquito Lindo, Jennifer Stahlman (Friend of the Chamber membership) and Empower!

Taquito Lindo opened this past Tuesday!  Lewiston, NY is quickly being branded a foodie village!  We are all for it!  We love telling visitors that ANY food location they chose in Lewiston will be a great one!  Their liquor license should arrive within a few weeks.

Our chamber has hired a consultant to assist us with our membership tiers.  We had a two hour session with him on Tuesday!  He is helping us understand the value we present to our members and how we can showcase it.  Some of the things our Chamber provides to our members include representation, access, involvement, programs, service and relationships.  We will work on increasing our capacity to serve you the best we can!

Our Executive Assistant Susie started on Tuesday.  She has worked on and off with the Chamber for a few years and we are happy to bring her on as a part time employee.  She will be in the office in the afternoon and will help with our influx of foot traffic.  Send her a note of welcome!  Susie@NiagaraRiverRegion.com

Our newsletter featured our member and First Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, Sara owner of The Rose Hanger.   Check out the article here regarding how she applied for NYS Seed Funding and received it!

The Chamber facilitated the Board of Director meeting on Wednesday along with the Jazz Festival Board of Directors on Thursday.  The 2nd  week of the month is always a busy one with two boards meeting.  It's a lot of paperwork, follow up and WORK!

The Chamber had our task force meeting focusing on Marketing, Operations and Member Services.  It was a great first strategy session and we look forward to many more!  We have another task force focused on KPI and Strategy today (Friday).

Jennifer attended the Community Foundation of Buffalo Quarterly Investment Review and also the Community Impact Committee meeting this past week.

ConnectLife is at our office today (Friday).  Consider signing up to donate or just stop by!  They accept walk ins!

Finally we are heartbroken over the news of our friend Jeanette Collesano and her passing.  She was a personal friend of ours and we worked with her professionally when she served as director of the Town of Lewiston Senior Center.   We will miss her.
