Nominate the next Business & Citizen of the Year Recipients!
The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce will honor our Business & Citizen of the Year recipients on Thursday, May 21st at the Russell J. Salvatore Dining Commons, Niagara University. Please join us in providing a nomination for the prestigious Business of the Year / Citizen of the Year awards!
Business of the Year
Nominee is a leader in their industry, gives continued charitable support to the community and provides a positive economic impact on the region. Eligible businesses must be members of the chamber in good standing, for at least one full year.
Criteria:
~Nominated business must be in good standing as a member of the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce
~They must be established locally in the same business for at least 2 years.
~They must demonstrate community leadership by participating in community activities and contribution of their time, effort and resources.
~They must demonstrate exemplary business practices, including the use of quality products and/or services.
Nomination Process:
~Anyone can nominate a person for the award through the nomination form online here.
~The Chamber will verify qualifications of each application.
For those who are nominated the following information will be considered in determining the award winner:
~Business information and history
~In-depth business description, years in business and details of day-to-day business involvement
~Significant business accomplishments within the past two years or longer.
~Description of business growth within the past two years or longer.
~Community involvement – not just memberships but specific involvement with projects, offices held, leadership, charitable donations.
Selection Process: Eligible nominees will be reviewed and chosen by the Membership Committee.

Citizen of the Year
The Citizen of the Year Award is meant to recognize individuals who have performed outstanding and dedicated volunteer service to the community and/or towards helping others over time, separate from their employment responsibilities.
The individual nominated must have provided volunteer service to a Chamber member (business, municipality, organization or non-profit).
Criteria:
~An outstanding individual who has given of his/her time and expertise in making the community a better place to live, work and play.
~Selected for accomplishments above, beyond and outside their field of endeavor.
